INGREDIENTS: 1 1/2 lbs of ground beef or turkey 8 beef bullion cubes Chili powder Garlic powder 1 16 oz can of Bush Chili Beans 1 medium onion 1 16 oz can of diced tomatoes 1 16 oz can of sliced mushrooms 4-5 small cans of tomato sauce 1/2 teaspoon sage |
Prep/Cook Time: ~ 1 hour | ||
BROWN ground beef or ground turkey in large skillet. | |||
ADD chopped onions to ground meat and sprinkle with chili powder and garlic powder. | |||
COMBINE tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, bullion cubes and mushrooms (drain water from can) to 3 or 4 quart sauce pan. Let simmer while meat is cooking. | |||
DRAIN water and grease from ground meat. | |||
ADD cooked meat to saucepan with tomato sauce mixture. | |||
COOK on medium to low heat with top on. stir occasionally. | |||
SERVING SUGGESTIONS - Serve with shredded cheddar cheese and Tostitos chips. For added flavor, sprinkle with chopped scallions. | |||
Substitute canned mushrooms with 8 ozs. of fresh sliced mushrooms. Substitute diced tomatoes with fresh tomatoes. If you don't like beans, use half of the can and all of the juice from the can. | |||
